Admission Requirements for Sumandeep College of Nursing
1) A. N. M.
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
- Student shall be medically fit.
- Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School.
- Student shall be admitted once in a year.
2) G. N. M.
1. Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:
- 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
- Registered ANM with pass mark.
2. Reservation:
- For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme.
Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical officer authorized by medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have the disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%. - 5% is relaxed for SC/ST candidates.
- Any other quotas as per the State Govt. under the reservation policy
Note: Quotas shall be included in the seats sanctioned and not above it.
3. Admission of students shall be once in a year.
4. Students shall be medically fit.
5. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years.
3) B. Sc. (N)
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- Minimum Education Qualification:
- Candidate with science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% Marks in Physics and Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidate are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institutes of Open School(NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
- English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).
- Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
- Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.
- Selection of candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination. Entrance test** shall comprise of:
- Aptitude for Nursing 20 Marks
- Physics 20 Marks
- Chemistry 20 Marks
- Biology 20 Marks
- English 20 Marks
Minimum qualifying marks for entrance test shall be 51% marks.
**Entrance test shall be conducted by University/State Goverment.
4) Post Basic B. Sc. (N)
- Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.
5) M. Sc. (N)
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
- The Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of: B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
- The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
- 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given.
6) Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care (N.P.C.C.)
- According to Gazette Notification, 23rd December, 2021
- Applicants must possess a registered B.Sc./ P.B.B.Sc. nurse with a minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in any critical care setting prior to enrollment.
- Must have undergone the B.Sc. (Nursing) in an institution found suitable by the Indian Nursing Council and have been registered in any State Nursing Council.
- Must have scored not less than 55%aggregate marks in the B.Sc. program.
- Selection must be based on the merit of an entrance examination and interview held by the competent authority.
- Must be physically it.
