DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGICAL NURSING:
- Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing is an extensive branch of nursing science dealing with women in relation to her reproductive organs, childbirth, and care of women before and after childbirth.
- DemonstrateObjective structured clinical examination (OSCE) method to conduct practical examination and quantum skill assessment method for formative evaluation.
- Demonstrate the ability to management reproductive child health, care during pregnancy, labour and puerperium including conduction of normal deliveries, family welfare, and the care of women with gynaecological problems.
- To demonstrate competency in maternity skills which promote quality care to the women and child.
- To demonstrate ethical in practice and research.
- Teach how to deliver comprehensive care, both to normal and high-risk mothers, during the antenatal, intra-natal and postnatal periods, including the care of newborns.
- Describe the concepts of biophysical, psychological and spiritual aspects of normal pregnancy, labor and puerperium and provide comprehensive nursing care to women with obstetrical and gynecological conditions.
- Describe the recent advancement in contraceptive technology and birth control measures Identify and Manage obstetrical and neonatal emergencies as per protocol.
- Develop standards for obstetrical and gynecological nursing practice.
- Incorporate evidence-based nursing practice and identify the areas of research in the field of obstetrical and gynecological nursing and function as independent midwifery nurse practitioner.
